What's New Here?

  • Website Update: I want to apologize to visitors for the problems with this site of late. Our hosting provider recently moved the UPSS site to new servers and disrupted the programming content during this process. All problems are now resolved. I want to thank everyone for your patience during these difficulties.

There will be exciting changes later in 2008, as the UPSS will be providing a members-only portal with many new features and content, including electronic access to all prior issues of Postal Stationery Magazine in their entirety, as well as a living ERP database for all stationery.

  • The first UPSS Auction of 2008 is now posted on this site. Use this LINK to check out the interesting items being offered.

  • Our Next Convention will be at the:
    INDYPEX '08
  • Current message from the UPSS President. Follow the link for UPSS business and updates.

  • Rare and Unusual Stationery from a recent issue of the UPSS Journal. HUNGARY PRINTED-TO-PRIVATE-ORDER ADVERTISING CARD Click on the image to read the story of this interesting Hungary Multiple-Advertising Card.

  • Here's a Librariana site I stumbled upon by accident, which exhibits some very unusual library-use postal cards. Since these are popular with a number of U.S. Postal Card collectors, I thought the site might be of interest to visitors. Check it out at this link.

  • Check out Leroy Collins' discussion of postal stationery collecting with Marty Weil, a freelance writer and paper ephemera researcher, on his blog at http://ephemera.typepad.com/ephemera/interviews/index.html.

  • Who's been coming here? Here is an interesting link graphically showing worldwide visitors to this site:

  • Reverse-serialization of Postal Stationery back-issues is now complete! The table of contents for all issues since the journals' inception is now available on this site. I hope this stimulates interest in back-issues of this important publication. Check it out. A Search-Engine for these indices can be used by researchers to seek out articles or topics. Postal Stationery magazine made its debut in 1948.

  • Here's a quick Postal Stationery Trivia Quiz item. This engraved image is scanned from a nineteenth-century philatelic journal. Do you know who this person was? You need javascript enabled on your browser to be able to take the quiz.

  • Send me an email if you're a UPSS Member and you want a link from this site placed on the links page. Here are the requirements: 1) You MUST be a UPSS Member, 2) The Site MUST be Postal Stationery-Related, and 3) You MUST be patient - I'll get it out there eventually.
